Film Analysis- IL Divo

IL Divo is an Italian arthouse film. "It is a stylistically gorgeous, seductive and very funny portrait of Italian politician Giulio Andreotti, whose ability to hold on to power despite everything (including a murder charge) makes him one of the most fascinating figures of the last century".

It is of the comedy and docu-drama genre's. It is aimed at the elder more mature adult aged 24+, of A/B groups in the demographic scale, as it contains dense political and love themes. It also appeals to the reform type of people as the film enlightens them about the life of someone.

The media effects ensure that the audience are aware of the life of Giulio Andreotti.

Lastly, the poster itself connotes a gangster themes, in which the main character is hidden to cause mystery within the audience, so they question themselves- who the man shown?
